Who am I?

My name is Gill Abrahams. I am a BACP Accredited Psychodynamic Counsellor with fifteen years experience working with a wide range of clients in a variety of settings.

My private practice is based in Barnet where I offer individual counselling, in a safe and confidential setting.  I also work as a Counsellor with clients within a Primary Care Trust, and students at a Further Education college.
Previously I worked for seven years as a Staff Counsellor for Boots, helping employees deal with personal and professional issues.

I offer both long and short term counselling, dependant on Client needs.

What is Counselling?

Counselling provides an opportunity to discuss your feelings and issues which may be concerning you and affecting how you live your life, within a safe and supportive environment, thus allowing you to consider making changes and exploring how you feel.

During our lives we often experience times when we feel unable to cope, are feeling unheard and/or stressed. We may not be able to pinpoint why we feel this way, but are aware we would like some help to move on, and identify issues which affect us. We may be aware that there is something wrong, but unsure why. Counselling offers an opportunity to express unspoken feelings and concerns which may be difficult to express, for all manner of reasons.  Counselling sessions provide a safe, confidential and supportive space to explore feelings, past issues and how to make changes; and to feel heard without judgment
